This blueberry smoothie tastes more like sinfully good sorbet in a cup than an antioxidant-packed breakfast or snack. Always a plus, amiright?
Not only is this smoothie antioxidant packed, it gets a nice warmth from cinnamon (as well as some blood-sugar balancing and anti-inflammatory properties) and fibre from delicious chia seeds! Chia seeds also act as a thickening agent in smoothies so don’t be alarmed if as you drink this it continues to thicken up a bit.
I love using frozen fruit in smoothies because it means you don’t need to add ice but it still gets super thick and refreshing! Also, I find the sound of blending ice unbearable. Almost as bad as fingernails on a chalkboard…Or when you accidentally scratch your fork on a plate the wrong way and it makes that awful piercing sound that makes you want to shiver and die. Okay. That took a turn. Moral of the story: Yay for frozen fruit
