It turns out I’ve posted a lot of immune-boosting recipes on my website over the years. Maybe some part of me knew they’d come in handy one day? Maybe I just cook with a LOT of ginger and garlic?! Who knows.
In the time of Covid-19, I’ve heard many people talk about how high their anxiety is. I get it. I’m with you. One of the things I’ve been finding the most helpful in this time where we are quite literally out of control of our future…is cooking immune-boosting foods. I know food has the power to heal us from the inside out. Many of these ingredients have been scientifically proven to support our immune systems. So for me, eating well makes me feel like I have a little bit of power over the situation. Even if it’s just the feeling of having a little control, it’s helping.
Things like ginger, garlic, turmeric, lemon and probiotic/prebiotic foods have been shown to boost immunity, have anti-inflammatory powers and build your microbiome which is largely responsible for your immunity. I’ve compiled a recipe round-up of all my favourite cozy & immune boosting recipes for you to enjoy during this crazy time:

lots of ginger, garlic and a little kick of spice to kickstart your circulatory system. This dish is made with tahini which is filled with omega-3 rich sesame seeds. Put this sauce on any veggie or noodle and watch the dish get 500x better. It’s a science.
Bone broth should basically be synonymous with Immunity at this point. The ultimate gut-healing, immune-boosting elixir. This is my mom’s recipe. She’s done SO much research over the years on how to get the most nutrition out of your bone broth, combined with family knowledge that’s been passed down from my grandma. She is the best. We are not worthy.

In all seriousness, I know green detox soup does not sound the best but I promise it’s actually delicious.
